Sad that my first blog had to be this!

I started this blog few months ago, planning to fill it with articles and write-ups during my semester break. But nothing happened! I didn't feel anything was worth writing then. But today, after suppressing the fury within me at the injustice that's taking place in my college, I badly wanted to let my feelings known. Wanted others to know how bad the world can be and was desperately searching for a forum to let that pent up feeling out. Suddenly I realized why I had started a blog for! This is my blog to let my voice heard!
The story starts with a new business idea someone got few years back which was a 'KILLER' idea to make money for many years without having many problems like working capital, labour unions strikes and raw materials! It was to start an ENGINEERING COLLEGE! And thus started the New Horizon College of Engineering. It grew in years to come and became a big success(in money making).
Students were made to think that they were studying in the 'SECOND BEST' college in Karnataka and the management went on skinning the students and their parents for money. It was done in many ways! The Sandal/floater fine(guys found wearing Sandals or Floaters have to cough up Rs 100 on the spot), the ID card fine(students found without their ID cards have to pay Rs. 100) and the best of all, the Cell phone fine(the BUMPER fine! Pay Rs 500 if found with a cell phone). Every semester the number of fines increased and no parent or student protested because the people in Management are 'BAD'! So the fleecing continued. Students were made to pay Rs 12,000 extra which was illegal but no one protested! It was increased to Rs. 15,ooo which made few students think that they can 'request' the management to decrease it, which finally resulted in few of them being falsely booked for 'drug peddling' case by the management.
Thats when we realised how dangerous it was to communicate with the management. So the fines like 'Attendance shortage' fine, 'Common breakage' fine and many others increased without a voice from the parents or students. The management coffers filled faster than water filling in the glass in the college water filters! But it wasn't enough I guess because this August the management hit on a bigger and better plan! The 'Parking lot' fees! The fee structure is something like this:
1. Rs 2000 pa for 2 wheelers('below' 125 cc)
2. Rs 4000 pa for 2 wheelers('above' 125 cc)as though the 125cc engine's gonna take up more space
3. Rs. 6000 pa for 4 wheelers.
We passed in front of the notice board reading the notice n smirking as though its nothing new. In a week, no. of vehicles parked in the college compound dropped down from around 500 to 50. Students considered this as one more rule and started parking outside the college compound. But they were in for a shock to discover in few days that its a 'No Parking' zone(no one knows how it 'suddenly' became a no parking zone in a day. Some say the management got it done that way!). One thing led to another and students started a protest which was previously unheard of and 5 of them got expelled!
Now, the most interesting fact is that, there is no 'Parking lot'! Students parked in a corner of the 'multi purpose' playground in the college campus. No shelters nothing. In summer the bikes get half baked in the sun and during rains, one has to maneuver through a thick layer of slush and muck! This 'facility' calls for fees in thousands does it?? Bulls**t! Only reason students park here is because the college is on the ring road and they can't be parked nowhere else!
Today the issue has flared up and the students are protesting but the management is so thick that they do not want to come to an agreement but they deny students of their classes and make them forcibly go on a "We're Sorry" rally! How cheap! Heights of cheapness! The worst part is that the police is with the college! We all know why!
Its high time that all students and parents take some action! We have to rise against this modern 'educational' anarchy!
